Scientists aim to capture the Brain's final signals
NCT ID NCT07477028
Summary
This study aims to see if it's possible to detect and record organized brain activity in people immediately after their heart stops, but before brain death is declared. Researchers will use a special, non-invasive EEG headset and artificial intelligence to monitor about 20 adults with terminal illnesses or severe trauma who have a 'do not resuscitate' order. The goal is to gather scientific knowledge about this final transition; it does not provide any treatment or therapy.
