Simple laxative may prevent costly dialysis catheter problems
NCT ID NCT07351357
Summary
This study is testing if giving patients a laxative before surgery to insert a dialysis catheter helps prevent the catheter from getting blocked afterward. Blocked catheters are a common problem that can require extra procedures to fix. Researchers will compare results in about 400 adults who are about to start peritoneal dialysis, with half receiving the laxative and half receiving usual care.
