Antibiotic boost for bowel prep aims to slash surgery infections
NCT ID NCT07429760
Summary
This study is testing if adding oral antibiotics to the standard bowel-cleaning routine before surgery for left-sided colon cancer helps prevent infections at the surgical site. It will involve 60 adult patients scheduled for elective surgery. Researchers want to see if this combined approach is more effective than the bowel prep alone, as infections are a common and serious complication after these operations.
