Botox shot before surgery could ease painful recovery
NCT ID NCT07399860
Summary
This study is testing if a Botox injection given a week before hemorrhoid surgery can reduce pain after the operation. Researchers will compare Botox to a placebo injection in 292 adults with severe hemorrhoids. The main goal is to see if relaxing the anal muscle with Botox leads to less pain, fewer painkillers, and faster recovery in the first month after surgery.
