ER to specialist: new study aims to close asthma care gap
NCT ID NCT07396987
First seen Feb 13, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tests a simple idea: scheduling a telehealth appointment with an asthma specialist before patients leave the ER after an asthma attack. Many people never see a specialist afterward, missing out on treatments that could prevent future attacks. The study will compare this approach to usual care in 40 adults to see if it boosts follow-up visits and improves asthma control.
