New hope for tough blood disease: gentler transplant trial begins

NCT ID NCT05757310

Summary

This early-stage study is testing a new, less intense bone marrow transplant procedure for adults with severe aplastic anemia whose disease has returned or hasn't responded to standard treatments. The goal is to see if using a partially matched family donor and a special cell preparation is safe and feasible. Researchers hope this approach can help control the disease with fewer side effects than a traditional transplant.
