Weight loss Surgery's hidden cost: bone health mystery investigated
NCT ID NCT05005039
Summary
This study aims to understand why weight loss surgery causes bone loss in postmenopausal women. Researchers will compare two common surgical techniques (RYGB and SG) to see how they differently affect bone marrow fat. They'll also check if having diabetes makes a difference in these bone changes. The study involves 40 women and uses MRI scans and blood tests to measure bone health factors.
