Scientists probe bone cells in rare childhood condition

NCT ID NCT04159675

Summary

This study aims to understand how two medications—burosumab and active vitamin D—directly affect bone-forming cells. Researchers will collect bone cells from 20 children (aged 4 months to 18 years) who are already scheduled for surgery to correct premature skull bone fusion. The goal is to learn more about the biology of these cells, particularly in children with a specific bone-weakening condition, to inform future treatments.
