First seen Feb 22, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested a new surgical technique called the Bone Barrier method for placing dental implants right after tooth removal in people with severe bone loss in the front upper jaw. Ten adults received the procedure, which uses a donated bone plate and a small piece of gum tissue to rebuild the missing bone and support the implant. The goal was to see if the implant stays stable and looks good over time. Results may help dentists treat difficult cases in the future.
