New study aims to cut radiation in bone cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT06988007

First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 04, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether special MRI scans can replace CT scans for planning surgery in people with bone sarcoma. The goal is to see if these "pseudo-scanner" MRIs are just as good at showing the tumor and guiding surgical tools, while avoiding the radiation from CT scans. About 122 participants will be enrolled to compare the accuracy of surgery plans made with MRI versus CT.
