NCT ID NCT07204015

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at body composition—fat, muscle, and bone mass—in children aged 5 to 18 with beta thalassemia major who receive regular blood transfusions. Researchers will use a simple test called bioelectrical impedance to measure these factors and see how they relate to transfusion frequency, iron levels, nutrition, and hormone problems. The goal is to better understand the physical effects of the disease and its treatment.
