Can a simple ultrasound predict ICU outcomes in pregnant women?

NCT ID NCT06728722

First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study uses bedside ultrasound to measure muscle loss, fat changes, and fluid buildup in critically ill pregnant and gynecological patients. Researchers will track 121 women in the ICU to see if these body changes relate to serious outcomes like death, need for a breathing machine, or longer hospital stays. The goal is to find a simple, radiation-free way to monitor these patients and improve their care.
