Could a simple bone marrow shot save your knee after surgery?

NCT ID NCT02582489

First seen Apr 26, 2026 ยท Last updated Apr 26, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether injecting a concentrated sample of a patient's own bone marrow into the knee right after meniscus surgery can prevent or slow down arthritis. About 100 adults with a torn meniscus will receive either the bone marrow injection or a placebo (saline). Researchers will track knee function, pain, and joint health for one year to see if the treatment leads to better outcomes.
