Heart surgery blood flow study aims to prevent kidney damage

NCT ID NCT06009809

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at how blood flow in the kidney and gut arteries changes during heart surgery when a heart-lung machine is used. The goal is to learn if these changes are linked to kidney injury after surgery. About 92 adults having heart surgery will take part, and blood flow will be measured using a special ultrasound probe placed in the esophagus.
