Heart surgery technique could cut need for donor blood
NCT ID NCT07420582
Summary
This study is looking at whether a specific technique used during heart surgery can reduce patients' need for blood transfusions afterward. The technique involves returning the patient's own blood left in the heart-lung machine at the end of surgery. Researchers will observe 130 adults having planned coronary artery bypass surgery to see if this method lowers transfusion rates compared to standard care.
