Summary

This study tests whether a special device that monitors blood clotting during complex heart surgery can help doctors decide when to give blood transfusions. The goal is to reduce the number of transfusions needed during and shortly after surgery. The trial involves 666 adults undergoing high-risk heart procedures at the Cleveland Clinic.
