First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study looks at donated blood samples to see if some contain high levels of a protein called pTau217, which is linked to Alzheimer's disease. Researchers want to find out if transfusing such blood could be risky for recipients. About 250 blood donors will provide samples for testing. The goal is to gather information, not to treat or cure anyone.
