Simple blood test could predict cancer treatment success, spare patients unnecessary surgery

NCT ID NCT06098560

Summary

This study is testing whether a blood test that detects tiny pieces of tumor DNA can predict how well immunotherapy works for people with advanced colorectal cancer. Researchers will follow 60 patients receiving immunotherapy to see if changes in this 'liquid biopsy' blood test can accurately show if the treatment is working, potentially better than standard scans. The goal is to find a better way to monitor treatment so doctors know sooner if it's successful, which could help some patients avoid unnecessary surgery.
