Simple blood test could guide back pain treatment
NCT ID NCT07367503
Summary
This study looked at whether a simple blood test could help doctors decide the best treatment for a herniated disc in the lower back. Researchers analyzed medical records of 130 patients to see if a blood marker for inflammation was linked to whether patients needed surgery or could heal with medication. They found that patients who needed surgery had higher levels of this inflammation marker, suggesting it could be a useful tool for treatment planning.
