Could this simple change spare ICU patients painful needle sticks?

NCT ID NCT07183605

Summary

This study is testing if blood drawn from a patient's existing central line (a tube in a large vein) gives the same accurate result for a common blood-thinner test as the standard, often painful, needle stick in the arm. Researchers will compare two different flushing methods for the central line against the standard arm draw in 30 ICU patients. The goal is to find a reliable way to monitor medication levels without causing extra discomfort.
