Simple blood test could spot deadly ICU pneumonia faster

NCT ID NCT07013032

Summary

This study is looking at whether a specific measurement from a routine blood test can help doctors diagnose pneumonia in patients on breathing machines in the ICU. Researchers will check if this measurement can identify the infection earlier and predict how patients will do, including their risk of death. The goal is to find a faster way to spot this serious complication so treatment can start sooner.
