Needle prick could replace painful bone marrow tests for blood cancer diagnosis

NCT ID NCT07081087

Summary

This study aims to create a simple blood test that could replace painful bone marrow biopsies for diagnosing myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and other blood cell deficiencies. Researchers will collect blood samples from 1,500 adults who are already scheduled for bone marrow evaluation due to low blood counts. By comparing the new blood test results with traditional bone marrow findings, they hope to develop a less invasive diagnostic tool.
