Scientists hunt for eye Cancer's genetic fingerprint in blood

NCT ID NCT01334008

Summary

This study aimed to develop and compare different blood test methods to detect tiny amounts of tumor DNA from eye melanoma that has spread. Researchers worked with 40 patients whose cancer had spread to find the most sensitive and cost-effective technique. The goal was to improve detection methods, not to treat the cancer directly.
