Blood test could spot cancer return before scans

NCT ID NCT02842203

Summary

This study is testing a new blood test to see if it can detect the return of stage III colon or rectal cancer earlier than current methods. Researchers are following 137 patients for up to 5 years, collecting blood samples regularly to look for tiny pieces of cancer DNA. The goal is to learn if this test can better predict a patient's outcome and monitor for recurrence compared to the standard blood test used today.
