Simple blood test could replace scans for elderly fall patients
NCT ID NCT07342023
Summary
This study is testing whether a simple blood test can accurately detect brain bleeding in older adults hospitalized after repeated falls. Researchers will measure two specific proteins in the blood to see if this test can work as well as a brain CT scan, which is often difficult to arrange quickly for elderly patients. If successful, this could help doctors make faster decisions and reduce the need for unnecessary scans.
