Blood test could replace risky brain surgery for infection diagnosis
NCT ID NCT07479225
Summary
This study is testing whether a new blood test can accurately identify the germs causing brain abscesses (serious brain infections). Currently, doctors often need brain surgery to get a sample for testing, which isn't always possible. The research will compare results from the new blood test to results from traditional surgery-based tests in 15 adult patients to see if the blood test works.
