New device aims to spare patients extra needle pokes in ER
NCT ID NCT07348289
Summary
This study is testing a special device called PIVO that draws blood for infection tests through an existing IV line. The goal is to see if using this device can reduce the number of separate needle sticks patients need while still providing accurate test results. Researchers will train emergency room staff to use the device and then track how often it's used and whether it affects test accuracy.
