Can a simple blood test predict Post-Surgery confusion?

NCT ID NCT07194096

Not yet recruiting Knowledge-focused Sponsor: Rao Sun Source: ClinicalTrials.gov ↗

Summary

This study aims to find out if a pre-surgery blood sugar measurement, called the stress hyperglycemia ratio (SHR), can help predict which patients are most likely to develop confusion (delirium) after an operation. Researchers will look back at the medical records of 15,000 adults who had surgery to see if there's a link. The goal is to find a simple way to identify high-risk patients so doctors can try to prevent this serious complication.
