Scientists hunt for clues in blood to explain severe infections
NCT ID NCT03869593
Summary
This study aims to understand why some patients with E. coli or Staphylococcus aureus blood infections become critically ill while others do not. Researchers will analyze blood samples from 60 patients with these infections. They will look for differences in patients' immune system genes to see if these explain the severity of the illness.
