New hope for protecting Moms' kidneys in dangerous pregnancy complication

NCT ID NCT05687669

Summary

This study compared two blood pressure medications to see which one better protects kidney function in women with severe pre-eclampsia in the intensive care unit. Researchers wanted to find out if a drug called phentolamine is safer for the kidneys than the commonly used drug glyceryl trinitrate. The trial involved 170 women with severe pre-eclampsia and measured their kidney function tests during their ICU stay.
