C-Section safety study: which drug keeps Mom's blood pressure steadier?

NCT ID NCT06248593

Summary

This study aims to find out which of two common blood pressure medications works better to prevent a dangerous drop in blood pressure during spinal anesthesia for a planned C-section. Researchers will compare norepinephrine and phenylephrine, given by a controlled IV drip, in 140 healthy pregnant women. The main goal is to see if one drug leads to better outcomes for the baby and more stable blood pressure for the mother with fewer side effects like a slow heart rate.
