Tourniquet training tested to speed achilles recovery

NCT ID NCT07498166

Summary

This study is testing if a special type of exercise training can help people recover faster after surgery for a torn Achilles tendon. The training uses a personalized tourniquet to briefly restrict blood flow to the calf during low-intensity exercises. Researchers will compare this new training, a fake version of it, and standard physical therapy alone in 75 adults to see which best improves leg strength, muscle size, and overall function over a year.
