Tourniquet-Style training tested to speed up knee surgery recovery
NCT ID NCT07406763
Summary
This study tested if adding blood flow restriction (BFR) training to standard physical therapy helps people recover better from ACL knee surgery. BFR involves using a special cuff to partially restrict blood flow during low-intensity exercises. Researchers compared standard rehab alone to rehab plus BFR in 36 young adults to see if it improved leg strength, knee motion, pain, and function in the first 3 months after surgery.
