Could a simple cuff during walking supercharge diabetes management?
NCT ID NCT07196371
Summary
This pilot study is testing if adding blood flow restriction (using a special cuff) to regular treadmill walking is a practical and potentially more effective way to help manage type 2 diabetes. For 6 weeks, 60 adults with type 2 diabetes will either walk on a treadmill normally or walk while wearing a cuff that mildly restricts blood flow to their legs. Researchers will compare the two groups to see if the cuffed walking is feasible and if it leads to better improvements in fitness and blood sugar control.
