Tourniquet training tested to speed up soldier shoulder recovery
NCT ID NCT05506072
Summary
This study tested if adding blood flow restriction training to standard physical therapy helps people recover better from shoulder surgery. It involved 40 military cadets who had surgery for a dislocated shoulder. Researchers compared standard therapy alone to therapy plus special exercises done with a cuff that partially restricts blood flow to the arm, measuring strength, movement, and pain over six months.
