Blood flow clues may predict stent clots
NCT ID NCT06700018
First seen Mar 14, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This observational study will enroll 120 people who have had a stent placed in their heart artery to see if blood flow patterns can predict dangerous clots. Researchers will use advanced imaging and computer models to compare blood flow in those who had a clot versus those who did not. The goal is to find markers that could help prevent future stent thrombosis.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help doctors predict which patients are at higher risk for stent thrombosis and potentially prevent future blockages.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It may not lead to immediate changes in patient care, and the findings might not apply to all stent types or patient groups.
As listed by the trial registrant
The condition terms exactly as the trial's registrant entered them.
