New blood test bottles put to the test in sepsis study
NCT ID NCT06426121
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study checked if a new type of blood culture bottle works as well as the current one for finding germs in the blood of people with suspected sepsis. About 394 patients gave blood samples that were placed into both the new and standard bottles. The bottles were then monitored to see if they correctly detected infections, helping doctors diagnose sepsis more reliably.
