Scientists probe Blood's hidden role in burn recovery

NCT ID NCT03077269

Summary

This study aimed to understand what happens to blood clotting and inflammation in people with serious burns over time. Researchers planned to track 120 adult burn patients, measuring substances in their blood to learn how burns affect the body's ability to stop bleeding and fight infection. The goal was to gather knowledge to help guide better treatments for future patients, such as reducing unnecessary blood transfusions and preventing complications.
