Could a blood clot after injury lead to years of pain?
NCT ID NCT07475910
Summary
This study aims to understand if developing a blood clot (venous thromboembolism) after a major arm or leg injury increases a person's chances of having long-lasting, significant pain. Researchers will follow 150 adults with serious limb injuries for six months, comparing pain levels between those who get a blood clot and those who don't. The goal is to learn if preventing clots could also help prevent chronic pain, leading to better recovery plans for trauma patients.
