First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looked at why people with myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1) have a much higher risk of dangerous blood clots in the legs or lungs. Researchers tested blood clotting in 130 participants, including people with DM1, people with a history of clots, and healthy volunteers. The goal was to find if clotting problems are caused by the disease itself, which could lead to better prevention.
