Which injection works best for Children's lymphatic malformations? new trial aims to find out
NCT ID NCT07320001
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares two injected drugs, bleomycin and doxycycline, to treat lymphatic malformations (abnormal fluid-filled sacs) in children under 12. About 92 kids will be randomly assigned to one treatment, and doctors will measure how much the malformation shrinks over six months, along with any side effects. The goal is to find which option is safer and more effective.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
bleomycin and doxycycline (injected into the malformation)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a preferred treatment for shrinking lymphatic malformations in children, reducing the need for surgery.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial (Phase 2) with only 92 children. The treatments may cause side effects like pain, fever, or skin damage, and one drug may not prove better than the other.
