New study aims to make bile duct drainage safer by testing a gentler dilation tool

Summary
This study tests whether using a mechanical dilator instead of an electrocautery dilator reduces bleeding when opening blocked bile ducts during an endoscopic ultrasound procedure. About 64 adults who cannot have standard ERCP will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods. The main goal is to see which approach causes fewer bleeding complications.
