New drug tested to stop dangerous bleeding fast

NCT ID NCT03288454

Summary

This study tested a new drug called ciraparantag to see if it could quickly reverse the effects of a common blood thinner (apixaban). The goal was to help control dangerous bleeding in emergencies. Healthy volunteers took the blood thinner and then received either the reversal drug or a placebo to measure how well and how fast their blood returned to normal clotting.
