Could skipping a common Pre-Op test cut antibiotic overuse?
NCT ID NCT07463963
Summary
This study aims to see if doctors can safely skip a routine urine test given before surgery to remove bladder tumors. Researchers want to know if not doing this test leads to the same low rate of post-surgery fevers and infections, while potentially reducing unnecessary antibiotic prescriptions. They will compare two groups of patients: one that gets the standard pre-surgery test and one that does not.
