Summary

This early-stage study tested the safety of combining different doses of external radiation therapy with the chemotherapy drug gemcitabine in 19 adults with bladder cancer that had not spread. The goal was to find the highest safe radiation dose and see how well the treatment worked at controlling the tumor. Participants had to have good overall health and normal bladder function.
