Bladder cancer breakthrough? study tests chemo to avoid surgery
NCT ID NCT03348969
Summary
This study tested whether intensive chemotherapy delivered directly to the bladder could control recurrent bladder cancer and potentially avoid surgery for some patients. It compared this intensive chemo approach against the standard treatment of surgery followed by chemo in 120 patients. Researchers also looked for biological markers to predict which patients would respond best to chemotherapy alone.
