Could a good germ fight bad bladder bugs? early trial tests new approach

NCT ID NCT07308808

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether a specific type of 'good' bacteria, Lactobacillus crispatus, can be safely placed into the bladder to help prevent urinary tract infections (UTIs). It involves 40 adults with spinal cord injuries who use catheters. Researchers will compare the effects of the bacteria solution to a simple saltwater solution to see if it changes symptoms or the mix of germs in the urine.
