First seen Jan 27, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at whether taking blackcurrant supplements can slow bone loss in women after menopause. The researchers will measure bone density and changes in gut bacteria over 12 months. About 159 women aged 45-70 who are not on hormone therapy will take either blackcurrant capsules or a placebo. The goal is to see if blackcurrants support bone health through the gut-bone connection.
