First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested a program for Black teenagers (ages 12-17) who came to the emergency room with suicidal thoughts or behaviors. The program combined therapy (CBT) with support from up to 4 caring adults chosen by the teen. The goal was to see if this approach was acceptable and practical, not to measure if it prevented suicide. Only 6 teens took part in this initial phase.
