Ancient seed tested to tame modern health woes in midlife women
NCT ID NCT07013058
Summary
This study tested whether a daily supplement made from black seed (Nigella sativa) could help improve health markers and quality of life for perimenopausal women with metabolic syndrome. Fifty women were randomly assigned to take the supplement or follow a Mediterranean diet for four months. Researchers measured changes in blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure, and menopausal symptoms to see if the natural supplement offered a non-hormonal management option.
